Fire Put Out At Chinatown 'T' Stop, 225 Passengers Evacuated
BOSTON (CBS) – An Orange Line train was evacuated at the Chinatown 'T' stop for reports of a fire on Monday afternoon.
Crews put out the blaze with a couple extinguishers after 3 p.m., according to the Boston Fire Department's Twitter account.
WBZ-TV's Ken MacLeod reports.
Fire officials said grease on the brakes likely sparked the blaze.

"The fire was extinguished rather quickly, but the lingering smoke was a problem," said Deputy Chief Joe Finn of the Boston Fire Department.

Dep. Chief Finn estimated that around 225 passengers were evacuated from the six-car train. No injuries were reported.
When the train came to a stop near the beginning of the tunnel, passengers said they could see and smell smoke.
"There were small, almost-like explosions, and then very acrid smoke," said Bernadette Orr, a passenger.
Passengers said that while they heard officials chatting about the fire, no information or directions were relayed to them.
"There were so many teenagers commuting from school. They panicked, and they came running through. People were trying to break the doors, and there was absolutely no instruction from the MBTA," said Orr.
The Orange Line and Chinatown station fully resumed service by 5 p.m.
