State Police Seize 'Extremely Dangerous' Narcotic Causing Overdose Deaths
BOLTON (CBS) -- A kilo of an "extremely dangerous" narcotic is off the streets after a Massachusetts State Police drug bust over the weekend.
Authorities say a 26-year-old South Boston man without a license was stopped on Route 495 in Bolton Saturday night. After observing "a number of indicators for drug activity," troopers searched his SUV and found a kilo of Fentanyl.
Fentanyl is a strong synthetic opiate frequently combined with heroin, and officials say it's fueling the number of overdose deaths in Massachusetts.
The man's name has not been released. He's facing multiple charges, including trafficking in Fentanyl and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
