Felger & Mazz: What Will The Boychuk Injury Mean To The Playoff Run?
Felger and Massarotti begin the show by discussing Johnny Boychuk's injury against the Penguins. Should Bruins fans be worried about the absence of Boychuk heading into the playoffs?
Mazz says yes, "purely from a depth standpoint", noting that there is nothing particularly unique about Boychuk but that the loss of bodies on defense can pile up i the postseason. Felger agrees that it is not a "deal breaker" injury, saying of Boychuk, "Is he one of your indispensable, cant-lose-that-guy kind of players? No."
The guys continue the segment with the news that Nathan Horton and Tuukka Rask skated today. What does that mean looking forward? And what about last night's loss to the Penguins?
Felger, who was in attendance, saw positives in the Bruins' play. The discussion of the game, however, turned to the controversial fake high stick penalty on Perverley by Kris Letang of the penguins. Felger was especially incensed at Letang's actions: "That was embarrassing to anyone wearing a Pittsburgh Penguin uniform, and the league has to do something about this, and they can." Will there be a penalty or a suspension for Letang?
