Felger & Mazz: The Melange Continues
As Felger & Massarotti rolled into hour three of their live broadcast from Shining Rock Golf Club in Northbridge, they decided to take to the phones and let the callers guide the melange of topics that are making up today's show. Consequently, Tony and Mike managed to cover everything from the inconsistencies of J.D. Drew, to the Bruins' prospects heading into NHL free agency, all in a single segment.
The hodgepodge of calls was led off by Matt in Amherst, who had Tony and Mike debating who they would pick in the Red Sox-Phillies if they were betting their kids' college tuition. Not long after, Nick from Malden added some fuel to the Adrian Gonzalez in right field fire, and Chris in the car asked Felger & Mazz if they think there are any National League teams that would be competitive in the AL.
Much to the delight of Felger, show regular Mike in Attleboro then turned the topic back to hockey. After the recent signings of several marquee free-agents-to-be, what will be left for the Bruins in NHL free agency? Will the B's end up over-paying for mediocrity? What will they do with their $10 million in cap space? Will they make a splash, or will they revive the perennial fan frustration in Boston just weeks after winning the cup? Tony and Mike can only hope that fans won't end up as disappointed as they were after their hopes of golf outing triumph were squashed by Mike in Shining Rock and his group's questionable 17-under showing on the course.
