Felger & Mazz: The Joe Corvo Controversy - Where Does The Truth Lie?
In light of the recent debate that the trade of Joe Corvo has ignited, Felger, Bertrand and Jermaine Wiggins kicked off hour three of Wednesday's show discussing the off-field conduct of professional athletes, and how different situations are handled by the media. Although Mike and Jermaine can't seem to agree on the sources of player scrutiny (or a lack thereof), they agree that Corvo needs to answer to his actions and the swirling speculation surrounding a 2002 incident in a Boston bar.
Are the rumblings that Corvo allegedly beat up a transvestite, and not a woman, relevant to judging the severity of Corvo's actions, or should he be held equally accountable regardless of the circumstances? Are these rumblings just an excuse that was made to deflect some of the scrutiny of Corvo, and if they aren't, why has Corvo never addressed that aspect of the story when talking about the incident?
Felger is calling the rumor's bluff, and doesn't seem to believe the transvestite conspiracy theory. Will Corvo be able to diffuse the situation by addressing it properly when he arrives in Boston, or will this issue nag him during his tenure with the Bruins? Tune in now to find out!
