Felger & Mazz: Tebow To The Jets - Punishment For The Saints
Marc Bertrand and Damon Amendolara kicked off the day discussing the Denver Broncos trade of Tim Tebow to the New York Jets and the fines and suspensions that were handed down to the New Orleans Saints organization for their Bounty System.
After announcing Peyton Manning as the Denver Broncos starting quarterback yesterday, the Broncos have traded Tim Tebow to the New York Jets. The Broncos sent Tebow and a 7th round pick to the Jets for a 4th and 6th round pick. After giving current quarterback, Mark Sanchez, a contract extension, is this a smart move by the Jets? What will this move mean for Tim Tebow's development as a quarterback?
Today NFL commissioner Roger Goodell handed out fines and suspension to the Saints for their Bounty System. Head coach Sean Payton was suspended for the 2012 season without pay, defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely, general manager Mickey Loomis has been suspended for eight games without pay, assistant coach Joe Vitt was suspended for six games without pay, and the Saints will lose their 2012 and 2013 second round picks and fined $500,000. Does the punishment fit the crime?
Beetle and D.A. got back to Tim Tebow and checked in with Mike Francesa from sister station WFAN in New York. What does Francesa think of the Tebow trade? Did the Jets make this move to get some buzz around the organization?
