Felger & Bertrand Talk About USMNT 2-2 LOSS To Portugal

BOSTON (CBS) - It was a tie in the standings, but man it sure felt like a loss.

After roughly 100 minutes of action between regulation play and stoppage time, the United States Men's National Team played to a 2-2 loss -- er, I mean draw -- with Portugal on Sunday night in dramatic fashion.

Portugal jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, but Team USA settled in nicely in the second frame and got goals from Jermaine Jones and Clint Dempsey to take the lead. However, in the final seconds of stoppage time, Cristiano Ronaldo set up a perfect cross for teammate Silvestre Varela to head it in for the 2-2 tie.

That was all she wrote.

The Americans blew a chance to advance to the knockout round and now must go all out in a very meaningful match with Germany on Thursday.

In the aftermath of the loss, I mean draw to Portugal (why do I keep doing that?), Michael Felger and Marc Bertrand were searching for answers. Beetle is an admitted soccer layman, and even Felger admits he doesn't possess all the answers, so they turned to ESPN's postgame for reaction and analysis where they were met with all reaction and no analysis.

Almost 24 hours later and they're still piecing their way through it all and trying to find the goat.

Midfielder Michael Bradley is at the top of Felger's list -- watch the video above to hear why.
