Felger & Mazz: Rondo Ejected As Celtics Drop Game 1

Felger and Massarotti begin the show by discussing the Celtics loss to the Hawks in Game 1 last night, and Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo's ejection.

They say Celtics fans should be especially irritated because of the wide-open nature of the Eastern conference following Derrick Rose's season ending injury.

What do the guys think of the call? Both agree with it, and say that the blame falls on Rondo. "It is not debatable...[Rondo] totally bumped him - whatever suspension he gets he deserves" says Mazz. How big of an indictment is this on Rondo? Felger: "doesn't this say it all about the player?"

Are the Celtics in trouble? Is losing the series now a possibility? Felger still "would be surprised" if the Celtics fall in this series, but Mazz disagrees, saying that the Celtics should be worried. Mazz asks what becomes of the Celtics offensively without Rondo in Game 2, as he says of Rondo, "he's still very much the thing that makes them go offensively."

Felger and Mazz end the segment by talking about the officiating in Game 1, noting that the same official Rondo bumped also made some questionable calls in a previous Celtics-Hawks meeting. What might this mean for the rest of the series?
