Felger & Mazz On Patriots-Packers: 'There Are Moral Victories, But This Wasn't One Of Them'
BOSTON (CBS) - 98.5 The Sports Hub's Mike Felger & Tony Massarotti began their show on Monday talking Patriots-Packers.
It was a hard fought game -- perhaps even a Super Bowl XLIX preview -- and one in which the Patriots ultimately fell short by the final count of 26-21.
New England came into the game as underdogs, and because the score was so close and the Patriots played tough against the NFC's best, some have deemed this a moral victory given the circumstances.
Felger & Mazz disagree with that sentiment.
"I do believe in moral victories, but I don't think this was one of them," Tony Massarotti said to start the program. "Listen, I didn't think the Patriots would run the table. I thought they would lose another game here down the stretch. I'm not alarmed by this loss, but I wouldn't call it a moral victory either."
"I feel like people are going too far, in that it was actually a 'good loss' and a 'good defeat,' Felger said in reference to Chris Gasper's latest column in the Globe. "I don't think there should be moral victories for a team this good. When you're the Patriots there are no moral victories. When you're the Bills or the Browns, sure."
