Felger & Mazz: October 9, 2013
Felger and Massarotti opened the day discussing the Boston Red Sox 3-1 Game 4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. What were the keys to victory for the Sox in beating the Rays? With last night's win, the Sox will advance to the American League Championship where they will face the winner of the Oakland Athletics-Detroit Tigers series. The Sox will be off until the ALCS begins on Saturday. Would Sox fans rather face the Tigers or the A's?
Hour 1
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz talked about the future of Sox center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury. Ellsbury is a free agent at the end of the season and is putting up great numbers in the postseason. Will Ellsbury's playoff performance earn him a big payday? Does Sox manager John Farrell deserve any criticism for how he managed in the ALDS?
Hour 2
Paul Perillo of Patriots Football Weekly joined Felger and Massarotti for Hour 3 to discuss the New England Patriots. First, the guys talked about last Sunday's Pats loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Did the loss to the Bengals tell us anything about this Patriots team? There are reports that Rob Gronkowski will make his season debut Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Will we actually see Gronk out there on Sunday? Felger asked Perillo a question that he asked earlier in the week. Would rather be the Patriots or the Broncos right now?
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour, Felger and Mazz get back into the Red Sox and their Game 4 ALDS clinching win over the Rays. What were the keys to the series? The Sox have to wait to see who they will be playing in the ALCS. Would Sox fans rather play the Tigers or the A's in the ALCS? To wrap the day up, we hear the Final Word with Marc Bertrand.
