Felger & Mazz: May 8, 2013
Felger and Massarotti opened the day discussing the Boston Red Sox. Last night the Sox lost 6-1 to the Minnesota Twins. The Sox have lost 4 of their last 5 games. Are the Sox not as good as people think? With the bullpen issues that the Sox are having, do they regret not bring Jonathan Papelbon back? The guys went back to talk about Clay Buchholz and the allegations that he doctors the ball. It's being reported that Buchholz had BullFrog sunscreen on his arm. Should it still be considered cheating? Also, David Ortiz is in the middle of 27-game hitting streak and batting .414 this year. Should Ortiz still be under suspicion of PED use?
Hour 1
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz continued the talk about the Red Sox and their offense. Is the offense good enough to support the pitching? The guys also discussed the Boston Bruins and tonight's Game 4 against the Maple Leafs in Toronto. The Bruins lead the series 2-1. How can the Patrice Bergeron-Tyler Seguin-Brad Marchand line turn things around?
Hour 2
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys discussed the rest of the NHL playoffs. The Vancouver Canucks were swept out of the playoffs last night. The Canucks have struggled in the playoffs since losing to the Bruins in the Stanley Cup Finals in 2011. Also, the Montreal Canadiens are close to being eliminated. They are down 3-1 to the Ottawa Senators. Tonight, the Bruins look to take a 3-1 series lead. Will we see a full 60-minute effort out of the B's tonight?
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour, Felger and Mazz took calls on tonight's Bruins Game 4 against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the NHL playoffs, the recent struggles of the Red Sox, and the future of the Boston Celtics. Finally, it's The Final Word with Marc Bertrand.
