Felger and Massarotti opened the day talking about the firing of New York Rangers head coach John Tortorella, Game 7 tonight between the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings, and the struggles of San Jose Sharks forward Joe Thornton in the playoffs. The guys went back to previewing the Boston Bruins upcoming series with the Pittsburgh Penguins. What could have been different if Jarome Iginla chose the Bruins over the Penguins? Hour 1
In Hour 2, Felger and Massarotti discussed the Boston Red Sox and Jonathan Papelbon's return to Fenway Park as the closer of the Philadelphia Phillies. Did Papelbon deserve the boo's that he received last night when he entered the game? Should the Red Sox take a shot at acquiring Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee? Does Major League Baseball need to address the length of games? LeBron James fouled out of the Miami Heat's 99-92 Game 4 loss to the Indiana Pacers. Could this series easily be 3-1 in favor of the Pacers? What direction are the Boston Celtics heading in this offseason?
Hour 2
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys continued to talk about the start of the Bruins-Penguins series, which doesn't start until Saturday night. Not only does the series start Saturday night, but Games 6 and 7 would be on back-to-back nights. What is the reasoning behind making the B's and Pen's wait to start their series? Felger and Mazz discussed the struggles of former Boston Bruin Joe Thornton in the playoffs. Did trading Thornton make the Bruins the championship caliber team that they are today? One of the big stories surrounding the Bruins-Penguins series is Pittsburgh's forward Matt Cooke. In March of 2010, Cooke delivered an elbow to the head Bruins forward Marc Savard.
