Felger & Mazz: May 24, 2013
Felger and Massarotti are broadcasting from the Ace Ticket Studio and are talking about last night's Boston Bruins 4-3 overtime loss to the Rangers in New York. How much of the blame for last night's loss should be on goaltender Tuukka Rask? The Bruins return to Boston for Game 5 tomorrow night with a 3-1 series lead. Jerry Thornton of Barstool Sports joined the guys to talk some Rangers-Bruins, Rob Gronkowski, and Tom Brady. Even though they got the win, did benching Brad Richards pay off? Was benching Richards a smart move?
Hour 1
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz continued to bicker about Rangers head coach John Tortorella's decision to bench Brad Richards for Game 4. Was last night's game, one of those games where you could say that the Rangers didn't win it, but the Bruins lost it? The guys went on to discuss the surprising play of defenseman Torey Krug. Is the level of concern rising in Bruins fans after last night's loss? In Boston Red Sox news, Jose Iglesias returns to the majors and will start at third base tonight. Shouldn't Iglesias be playing shortstop and move Stephen Drew to third?
Hour 2
Chris Gasper of the Boston Globe joined Felger and Massarotti for Hour 3. Felger, Mazz, and Gasper continued to discuss last night's Bruins 4-3 overtime Game 4 loss to the Rangers. Was last night good Rangers hockey or bad Bruins hockey? Doc Rivers still hasn't confirmed whether or not he will return to the Boston Celtics to coach next season. Why haven't we heard from Doc yet? Last night, Gasper was covering the Red Sox and Terry Francona's return to Fenway. Will Middlebrooks and Shane Victorino were placed on the disabled list today and Jose Iglesias and Alfredo Aceves were called up. Also, Ryan Lavarnway was sent down to Pawtucket to make room for David Ross, who returns from the seven-day concussion disabled list.
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour, Felger and Mazz continue to break down last night's Bruins loss to the Rangers. Who or what should be the blame for last night's loss? Should B's fans be concerned? Are the Tuukka Rask comparisons to Tim Thomas unfair? Finally, we hear from Squeaky Mazz and Mad Mike in the Friday edition of The Final Word with Marc Bertrand.
