Felger & Mazz: March 27, 2013
Felger and Massarotti kicked off the day talking about the Boston Red Sox and their fall from grace. Has there ever been a team that has fallen so far so fast? Has the Red Sox ownership group set the team back 15 years? Earlier today, Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli joined Toucher and Rich and said that Bruins will not be trading goaltending prospect Malcolm Subban. Should the Bruins make Subban an untouchable piece?
Hour 1
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz continued to discuss the Boston Bruins and the approaching trade deadline. Though Subban is considered an untouchable, shouldn't the Bruins consider moving Subban for a player like Jarome Iginla? How long does it take for a first-round goaltender to develop at an NHL level? Have the fans lost faith in the Boston Red Sox ownership? If they were able to make the team successful at one point, why not a second time?
Hour 2
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys continued to discuss the NHL Trade Deadline and whether or not the Bruins should look to move Malcolm Subban. With young goalies in the system like Anton Khudobin and Tuukka Rask, why wouldn't the Bruins look get something for Subban? After Scott Boras' client Kyle Lohse signed a three-year deal with the Milwaukee Brewers, Boras called Major League Baseball's compensation rule "corrupt." Should MLB consider changing the rule? The guys took a quick second to talk about the Boston Celtics 100-85 loss to the New York Knicks. Should Danny Ainge have made a stronger attempt at getting Kenyon Martin?
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour, Felger and Mazz continued to discuss both topics covered today. The Boston Bruins at the approaching trade deadline and the Boston Red Sox ownership cutting back concession prices. Tonight the Montreal Canadiens visit the Garden to face the Boston Bruins. Felger and Mazz were joined by Conor McKenna of TSN 690 in Montreal to preview tonight's game. Finally, it's the Final Word with Marc Bertrand.
