Felger & Mazz: March 15, 2013
On an Agenda Free Friday, Felger and Massarotti opened the day talking about NFL free agency. The Patriots brought back Kyle Arrington on a four-year deal for $16 million. The Pats also signed former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Donald Jones. Is it time for the Patriots to focus just on improving the defense? Jerry Thornton from Barstool Sports joined the guys to talk some Pariots. The guys also talked a little Boston Red Sox. Are the Red Sox better than an 85-win team?
Hour 1
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz continue to scratch their itch on Welker's signing with the Broncos. Who is to blame for Welker choosing to play in Denver? Welker or the agents? Mike Reiss from the "world-wide leader" joined Felger and Massarotti to defend his coverage about free agency and the New England Patriots. Why were people so postive about Welker's return to New England when Welker and the Pats were that far apart on a contract? Why did Welker leave? Did the Patriots mess up the negotiations with Welker?
Hour 2
Chris Gasper of the Boston Globe joined Felger and Massarotti to continue the conversation about NFL free agency and moves made by the New England Patriots. Are the Patriots overpaying for Kyle Arrington? Should the Pats give up draft picks for a player like Emmanuel Sanders from the Steelers? Would Adrian Wilson fit into the Pats defensive system? Does Dwight Freeney have anything left in the tank? How about John Abraham? Are some of these players getting too up there in age to take a chance on?
Hour 3
In the 4th and final hour of Felger and Massarotti, the guys discussed the Patriots need in the secondary. Who should the Pats be persuing? Also, Felger predicts that the Boston Celtics will beat the Miami Heat Monday night. The Boston Bruins have a couple big games this weekend. How will the Bruins do against the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins? Finally, we hear from Squeaky Mazz and Mad Mike in Friday's edition of the Final Word with Marc Bertrand.
