Felger & Mazz: March 13, 2013
Felger and Massarotti opened the day talking about NFL free agency and Wes Welker's future. The Baltimore Ravens have released safety Bernard Pollard. Would Pollard be worth the Pats taking a chance on? Is AFC East getting worse? The guys went on to talk some Boston Bruins and last nights 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Were the Bruins just rundown after back-to-back games? Could Wes Welker be closing in on a deal with the Denver Broncos?
Hour 1
In Hour 2 of Felger and Mazz, Wes Welker's future was still the hot topic. Did the Patriots ever really want to bring Welker back? If Welker does sign with the Broncos, how could the Pats spend the money? Do the Patriots already have a back up plan in Welker's absence?
Hour 2
During Hour 3, not much has changed on the Wes Welker front. There is no deal down with Denver yet. The Patriots could still have a chance at Welker. Was it smart of the Pats to let Welker test the open market? Will the Pats match Denver's offer? What is Wes Welker's dollar value?
Hour 3
In the 4th and final hour, a deal is done! Wes Welker will sign a 2-year contract with the Denver Broncos. Wes Welker will be getting $12 million over the two years. Did the Patriots really not want Welker back? What will the Welker signing mean to Tom Brady? Finally, it's the Final Word with Marc Bertrand.
