Hour 1
Felger and Massarotti kicked off the week discussing the Boston Red Sox, their weekend series with the New York Yankees, and their up coming series against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Sox took 2 of 3 from the Yankees this weekend topped off with a walk-off win last night. Are fans getting tired of marathon-length Sox-Yankees game? How can the league shorten the length of the games? Also, there are reports that the Sox are looking to lock up second baseman Dustin Pedroia long-term. Is Pedroia a $20 million a year player? To wrap up the hour, the guys have some fun with Adam Kaufman and his use of the studio's talk-back button.
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz continue to talk some Sox. What should the Sox approach be for the upcoming trade deadline? Would the Sox be willing to part with an impact player? Clay Buchholz is meeting with Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion on his shoulder injury. Should there be concern with Buchholz's injury? Mike and Tony took a break from the Sox talk to discuss Phil Mickelson's win at the British Open.
Hour 2
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys discuss the MLB trade deadline and how Buchholz's injury could affect the Sox approach in making a move. Felger and Mazz continued to talk about the value of Dustin Pedroia. Finally, Felger gave his review of Pearl Jam at Wrigley Field and Mazz updates everyone on his toenail fungus.
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour, Felger and Mazz discuss Buchholz's shoulder injury and a timeline of when he may return. Buchholz met with Dr. James Andrews today and Dr. Andrews confirmed that there is no structural damage to Clay's shoulder. When's the earliest that Buchholz could be back on the mound? Also, should the Sox lock up Dustin Pedroia long-term at $20 million a year? During the final hour, news came down that Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun will be suspended for the remainder of the season for violated MLB's Drug Program. To wrap the day up, we hear the Final Word with Adam Kaufman.
