Felger & Mazz: If It's Proven Football Causes Brain Damage, What Will The NFL Do?
Michael Felger and Sean McAdam were joined by Chris Gasper of The Boston Globe to talk about the passing of Junior Seau and concussions in the NFL.
How much concern for player safety is there in the NFL? Once Junior Seau's brain is studied, if it's proven that football caused brain damage, what will the NFL do?
Gasper questioned the sincerity of the league's efforts to increase player safety, based on the league's expansion of Thursday night games.
"How concerned could you really be for player safety if you're going to expand the Thursday night slate, which you're eventually probably going to break off and sell to NBC Sports or somebody and make a huge chunk of change?" Gasper said. "It's just funny that when push comes to shove, the TV show, the programming still takes precedence over player safety."
