Felger & Mazz: Did Aqib Talib Pull A Jay Cutler?

BOSTON (CBS) - It's an agenda free Friday on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Felger & Massarotti program, where the callers set the table with their hot sports takes.

Aqib Talib was taken off the field early in the second quarter in the AFC Championship after Wes Welker's (perfectly legal) pick play injured the cornerback's knee. Talib missed the remainder of the game and the Patriots went on to lose 26-16.

It was reported afterwards there was no structural damage done to Talib's knee.

You may recall the NFC Championship game on January 23, 2011 between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears.

Quarterback Jay Cutler played just one series in the second half, forcing backups Caleb Hanie and Todd Collins to try and beat Aaron Rodgers.

The Bears lost, and critics called into question Cutler's toughness.

One caller made the comparison, which Michael Felger called "scary."

"Remember a few years ago when Jay Cutler was on the sideline standing there watching his team lose and didn't come back in the game? Wasn't Talib doing the same thing [on Sunday] with no structural damage? And if so, do you think if he wasn't a free agent he'd have gone back in that game?" said Derek in Leominster.

How do you feel about Talib not returning to the game? Listen below for the full discussion with Felger & Mazz:
