Felger & Mazz: December 2, 2013
Felger and Massarotti opened the week discussing the New England Patriots 34-31 win over the Texans in Houston yesterday. The Pats came back from a 17-7 deficit at halftime to improve their record to 9-3. The guys discussed the success of the Pats offence, the struggles of the defensive, and the benching of Stevan Ridley. What message is being sent by Bill Belichick's benching of Ridley? Also, Antonio Smith of the Texans is accusing the Patriots of spying. How hard is it to figure out a Wade Phillips run team?
Hour 1
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz took a look at a couple of the game from College Football this weekend. First, the guys discussed the end of the game between Alabama and Auburn. Auburn got the win on a returned field goal attempt with no time left on the clock. Also, Michigan had the chance to tie the game, but elected to go for the two-point conversion and the win. The conversion failed and Ohio State go the 42-41 win over the Wolverines. Mike and Tony went on to talk about Pittsburgh Steelers coach, Mike Tomlin's, sideline stunt during Thursday night's Steelers-Baltimore Ravens game. Was Tomlin's stunt worse than what Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd did?
Hour 2
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys take a look at the AFC playoff picture. Should Patriots fans be concerned with the performance of the defense yesterday? Finally, the guys got back into the big College Football games from this past weekend.
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour, Felger and Mazz continued to discuss the Patriots win over the Texans and Stevan Ridley's fumbling issues. Ridley was scratched from yesterday's game. What kind of message does the benching of Ridley send? Can the Patriots be successful without Ridley in the backfield? The guys also discussed Texans' Antonio Smith's accusations that the Patriots were spying on them. To wrap up the day, we hear the Final Word with Marshall Hook.
