Felger & Mazz: Could The Pats Succeed Without Ochocinco?
Felger and Massarotti are live from Ace Ticket Studios at Fenway Park. The hot topic of Chad Ochocinco's performance is still in question.
Ochocinco was only on the field for 18 of 80 snaps on Monday night. Do the Patriots even need Ochocinco?
Belichick said Wednesday he "thinks he understands it" when asked about Ochocinco and the Patriots playbook. He also added, once again, that stats don't mean everything when it comes to a player making a difference.
"I think all the players that participate in the game will have an important role in it, absolutely. But it's not really my job to try to pad up individual statistics for any player on the team," he said. "I'm not really interested in that. The only statistic really I care about is the final score. That's what our goal is. I know everybody else wants to talk about and write about individual stats and what each individual's production is but really I'm concerned about the team's success, that's the way it will always be."
Is he being treated differently than Randy Moss was when he arrived in New England? Belichick always gushed about Moss, but has been mum about Ochocinco. Is Belichick acting differently this time around?
Is that outside threat really an issue for the Patriots offense?
Tight end Aaron Hernandez had a great night on Monday. Is he more of a third wide receiver than Ochocinco? What role does Felger think Ochocinco is playing for the Patriots this season?
