Felger & Mazz: Cam Neely Discusses Lack Of Big Bruins Moves This Offseason
Cam Neely of the Boston Bruins joined the Felger and Massoratti Show on Monday to announce the new contract extension between CBS Radio and the Bruins and discuss offseason moves.
Felger and Mazz talked to Neely about the offseason moves, or lack thereof, of the Boston Bruins. Neely discussed with the guys what Rick Nash going to the New York Rangers means. Neely said that general manager Peter Chiarelli did inquire about what the Blue Jackets would want in return for a potential Nash trade but wouldn't divulge many more details.
Seeing Nash come to Boston may have been a stretch, but most Bruins fans will be upset about another missed opportunity. It's not news that the Bruins are not doing much this offseason. Some fans feel that making a splash in the offseason is what needs to happen to make this team better, and they've been vocal about. Cam Neely, though, feels that this core can get better the way it is.
"I know that there's an element of looking for new blood, getting some excitement created with that new blood and how it's going to affect the rest of the lineup," Neely said. "We do have to be better but I think our players can be better. We still have a young group of core players that can improve," he added, mentioning Tyler Seguin, Brad Marchand, Milan Lucic and David Krejci by name.
