Felger & Mazz: Bobby V's Suicide Squeeze & The Sox Rotation
Marc Bertrand and Damon Amendolara kicked off Friday by talking about the Boston Red Sox and new manager Bobby Valentine.
Last night, the Sox and Yankees finished their game with a 4-4 tie. Manager Bobby Valentine went for a suicide squeeze to tie the game late, and after the inning ended, Yankees manage Joe Girardi let the umpires know that his team was unable to continue the game due to lack of pitching.
How much of Bobby V's suicide squeeze call contributed to Girardi ending the game?
The guys went on to discuss the future of Daniel Bard. The Sox decided to try Bard out as a starter this spring, hoping he would fit into the back-end of the rotation, but the young righty has been less than impressive.
If Bard is moved back to the bullpen, what will his role be? Will he go right back to the 8th inning role? Who will be the Sox 4th and 5th starters?
