Felger & Mazz Big Board: Patriots Draft Targets At Offensive Tackle, Quarterback
BOSTON (CBS) -- If you want real, studious draft analysis with solid reasoning and measured, well-thought out projections for the Patriots in the NFL Draft, Adam Jones can give you the Mel Kiper routine. If you'd rather have a bunch of clowns chucking markers at a piece of cardboard, Felger & Mazz's Big Board is what you need.
The ironic thing is, Felger & Mazz's big board has been bafflingly successful. It is a much stronger predictor of Patriots draft moves than Kiper or any other so-called "experts" have ever been when it comes to the Patriots' draft selections. In just three years, they've successfully thrown markers at Jimmy Garoppolo, Aaron Dobson, Trey Flowers, and Jake Bequette, all of whom the Patriots ended up selecting in the real life draft.
Why stop when you keep getting it right? Felger & Mazz are back with year four of the big board, and first they're looking at offensive tackles. Here are the names they hit on today's Big Board:
John Theus, Georgia
Cole Toner, Harvard
Willie Beavers, Western Michigan
Caleb Benenoch, UCLA
Will their "predictions" come true again? Watch them make their "picks" in the video above.
Later in the day, it was time for Round 2, and this time they were going after quarterbacks. Felger believes the Patriots may need to draft a quarterback, because of the whole suspension on Tom Brady thing. But he doesn't expect them to use a high pick on it.
So, the guys opened up the draft guide to page three, hucking a marker at some of the lower-ranked guys.
The results:
Nate Sudfeld, Indiana
Brandon Allen, Arkansas
Jacoby Brissett, North Carolina State
The guys weren't overly impressed by the picks, but the Felger & Mazz Big Board is not to be questioned.
