Felger & Mazz: August 8, 2013
Hour 1
Felger and Marc Bertrand kicked off the day discussing the Boston Red Sox. With last night's 7-5 win over the Houston Astros, the Sox are at 70 wins. The Sox finished last season with only 69 wins. Having more wins than last season, can this season be considered a success? What concerns do the Sox have going the rest of the way? Sox shortstop Stephen Drew has been on a hot streak since the trade of Jose Iglesias. Can Drew stay hot down the stretch? What are the Sox plans for Xander Bogaerts? Finally, would Felger have better luck hitting against the best Little League pitcher or the best Girl's High School Softball pitcher?
In Hour 2, Felger and Bertrand were joined by Paul Perillo of Patriots Football Weekly to talk some Pats. Are the new Pats receivers as good as the writers are making them sound? The guys also discussed Wes Welker's comments about Bill Belichick. Was Belichick too hard on Welker? What are Paul's thoughts on Tim Tebow's future in New England?
Hour 2
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys continued to talk some Pats before getting back into the Red Sox. What has been the biggest story of the season for the Sox? The Sox have 18 wins in their final at bats. Is it possible for the Sox to sustain the pace they are on? Are the Sox as good as their record says? Marshall Hook gets into it with Felger about what determines the difference between being clutch and being lucky.
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour, the guys continue to debate the difference of being clutch or being lucky. Finally, due to the Patriots preseason game tomorrow, we hear from Mad Mike and Squeaky Mazz today in the Final Word with Marshall Hook.
