Felger & Mazz: August 6, 2013
Hour 1
Felger and Massarotti opened the day talking about the New England Patriots and their new-look receiving core. How much pressure will be on Tom Brady with all the new receivers? How does this year's batch of receivers compare to Brady's receivers in 2006? Is the media over hyping the newest additions of the Patriots? To wrap up the opening hour, the guys talked some Shark Week and the Megalodon documentary.
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz continued to discuss the Patriots and Tom Brady. Brady turned 36-years old this past weekend and has a new set of receivers. Can Brady still perform as an elite quarterback? Is the Patriots defense a bigger issue than their offense heading into the start of the 2013 season?
Hour 2
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys discussed the return of Alex Rodriguez. In his season debut, A-Rod went 1-for-4. On Monday, A-Rod was suspended for 211 games, which is supposed to begin on Thursday. Rodriguez will appeal the suspension. Last night, the Boston Red Sox lost their series opener to the Houston Astros 2-0. The Sox were shut out by rookie left-hander Brett Oberholtzer. Why have the Sox struggled against left-handed pitchers?
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour, Felger and Mazz talked some more Red Sox, last night's loss to the Astros, and tonight's starting pitcher Steven Wright. Why is Wright getting the start tonight? Has John Farrell made some questionable decisions in the second half? Why haven't the Red Sox called up Xander Bogaerts yet? Finally, it's the Final Word with Marc Bertrand.
