Felger & Mazz: August 2, 2013
It's an Agenda Free Friday on Felger and Massarotti and there is plenty going on for the guys to discuss today. The first thing the guys talked about were the Boston Red Sox and last night's 8-7 walk-off win over the Seattle Mariners. The Sox battled back from being down 7-1 to score one run in the 8th inning and six runs in the 9th for their 11th walk-off win of the season. Jerry Thornton of Barstool Sports joined the guys to talk about Aaron Hernandez's letter from prison and New England Patriots Training Camp. Getting back to the Red Sox, what is the difference between character and chemistry in a team?
Hour 1
Felger and Mazz kicked off Hour 2 discussing the Bill Parcells. Parcells will be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame tomorrow. How important was Bill Parcells to football in New England? Mike and Tony went on to talk about how the Red Sox do when facing the Ace of the opposing team. Former MLB umpire Jim McKean joined the guys to discuss the controversial pitching change call in last nights Mariners-Sox game.
Hour 2
Chris Gasper of the Boston Globe joined Felger and Massarotti on an Agenda Free Friday and kicked off Hour 3 talking about the Red Sox. During the first segment of Hour 3, it was reported that Red Sox owner John Henry is the new owner of the Boston Globe. What message will this send that a local team owner now owns a local newspaper too? The guys also continued to talk about the all the Red Sox walk-off wins this season. Felger, Mazz, and Gasper also discussed Aaron Hernandez's letter from prison. Finally, the guys talked about the Jose Iglesias trade. How much risk is there in trading Iglesias?
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour of an Agenda Free Friday, Felger and Mazz take calls on everything they have discussed today. Finally, it wouldn't be a Friday without hearing from Mad Mike and Squeaky Mazz in The Final Word with Joe Murray.
