Felger & Mazz: August 19, 2013
Hour 1
Felger and Massarotti kicked off the week discussing the Boston Red Sox, their weekend series with the New York Yankees, and Sox pitcher Ryan Dempster beaning Alex Rodriguez in last night's series finale. The Yankess came to Boston and took 2-of-3 from the Red Sox. Did A-Rod getting hit by Dempster give the Yankees life? What good comes from hitting Rodriguez with a pitch? Was hitting A-Rod a dumb move by Dempster? Finally, the guys had a little fun with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman's sound from the weekend.
In Hour 2, Felger and Mazz continue to search for reasons why Ryan Dempster beaned Alex Rodriguez in the Sox 9-6 loss to the Yankees last night. What was the purpose of hitting A-Rod with a pitch? Because he did steroids? Because he ratted out other players, including a teammate? Because he snubbed you at a charity event? The guys changed things up and wrapped up the hour discussing the New England Patriots and Friday night's preseason 25-21 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Is it time to give up on Tim Tebow?
Hour 2
During Hour 3 of Felger and Massarotti, the guys dove back into the reasoning behind Dempster hitting A-Rod with a pitch last night. Could an incident, like last night's, be a momentum changer for the Yankees? With the upcoming West Coast trip for the Sox, does Mazz think the Sox are still setting up for a collapse? What would be the league-wide reaction to Dempster hitting A-Rod be? Did hitting A-Rod last night contribute to the Yankees win?
Hour 3
In the fourth and final hour, Felger and Mazz discuss the latest news involving former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez and a double murder last year in Boston. Mike and Tony got back into the Dempster-Rodriguez debate. Finally, it's the Final Word with Marc Bertrand.
