Feds Appealing $2.7M Civil Suit Filed By Alleged Bulger Victims
BOSTON (CBS) - A federal appeals panel heard arguments in the government's appeal in a civil suit filed by some victims of Whitey Bulger and partner Stephen Flemmi on Thursday.
In 2009, a district court awarded the families of Louis Litif, Deborah Hussey and Debra Davis $2.7 million.
All three were killed while Whitey Bulger and Stephen Flemmi were working as FBI informants.
The government argued in Litif's case that there's no evidence Bulger and Flemmi committed the acts.

Regarding Hussey and Davis, the government described them as acts of domestic violence, not connected to acts Bulger and Flemmi did as informants.
The plaintiffs' attorneys, meanwhile, described Bulger and Flemmi as a "criminal juggernaut."
