The FBI says the reward money was paid to more than one person. They are not providing any information about identity of those involved.
Bulger and Greig were arrested in Santa Monica in June.
The FBI says the information which led to the arrest was generated as "a direct result" of a Public Service Announcement initiated on June 20.
