FBI, IRS, State Police Raid Springfield Strip Club, Eatery
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Federal agents and state police have raided a Massachusetts strip club and a restaurant but are not saying why.
A spokeswoman for the FBI said Wednesday that agency as well as IRS and Massachusetts State Police "are conducting court authorized activity in connection with an ongoing federal investigation."
State police confirmed that the Mardi Gras strip club in Springfield was searched.
There is no threat to public safety.
An attorney for the Mardi Gras in a statement said "we are cooperating and will still be open for business."
Victor Bruno tells The Republican newspaper that agents also raided his Springfield restaurant, Adolfo's Ristorante, and his Suffield, Connecticut home for records related to his personal and business finances. He said "I have nothing to hide."
