Law Enforcement Leaders Reflect On Marathon Bombing At Salem State Event
SALEM (CBS) - Two of the men who led the investigation into the Boston Marathon bombing addressed a crowd at Salem State University on Thursday.
Former Special Agent in Charge Richard DesLauriers and former Police Commissioner and WBZ Security Analyst Ed Davis shared their stories of the bombing including the law enforcement response and the rebuilding of the community.
"Having good teamwork in law enforcement is what led to the success that we had particularly during the first week of the Boston Marathon bombing investigation," DeLauriers said.
The event was moderated by WBZ-TV's Lisa Hughes.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit a scholarship named for Salem State Graduate Sean Collier, the MIT officer who was killed by the marathon bombers.
"Sean had a commitment to serve other people, to serve his community," Collier's step father Joseph Rogers said.
