Faulk On Edelman: 'Dead Issue' For Team

FOXBORO (CBS) – The New England Patriots are not going to let the arrest of Julian Edelman become a distraction.

On Wednesday, despite all the questions about the receiver, the Patriots wanted to keep the talk to the New York Giants.

That proved to be a difficult task with the larger-than-normal media scrum in the locker room.

Running back Kevin Faulk said it's a simple solution to keep the matter from becoming a distraction.

"Don't talk about (it)," Faulk said. "It's hard for you not to hear it because the media is talking about it. But at the same time it's not being talked about in here. We're talking about the Giants."

"The worst thing that can happen, it happened. Now it's over. Keep letting everyone else talk about it," said Faulk, currently the longest tenured Patriot. "Don't worry about it, you have a game to play on Sunday."

"He's talked to coach, he's talked to Mr. Kraft and they've discussed everything," he said of Edelman. "Now it's a dead issue for anyone else on the team. Now it's for him to talk about it, or his attorney."

"I was in that situation during the offseason a couple of years ago, it's one of those things; forget about it. It happened already, move on," he said, referring to a drug charge back in 2008 season in Louisiana.

Faulk was found with marijuana while attending a Lil' Wayne concert and received a one-game suspension for violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy.
