Father and son stabbed in break-in
A father and his 11-year old son are recovering from stab wounds following a home invasion in Cambridge.
Police say it happened around 1 a.m. Thursday morning on Pearl Street.
Investigators say a man broke into the back of the house and was confronted by the boy on the first floor.
His 53-year-old father was alseep upstairs. When he woke up he intervened, but was stabbed several times.
The intruder ran off.
A neighbor called 911 and the father and son were taken to the hospital.
The father is listed in serious condition. The boy's wounds are said to be superficial and both are expected to recover.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set white man.
