Fatal shooting in Taunton
Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in Taunton.
A spokesman for Bristol District Attorney Sam Sutter says in a statement that police responding to a 911 call at about 12:15 a.m. on Thursday found 33-year-old Joseph Dugan outside a Granite Street home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was a visitor at the home.
Dugan was taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton and then transferred to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities did not immediately provide further details, saying the investigation is continuing. There was no word on possible suspects or arrests.
