One Dead After Dorchester Shooting

BOSTON (CBS) -- One man is dead after being shot in Dorchester on Monday afternoon.

Boston Police received a call just before 3 p.m. that a person had been shot near 49 Bullard Street.

Boston EMS transported the victim, reported to be in his 20s, to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the shooting and asking for the public's help.

"It's an active scene right now. We're investigating, canvassing the neighborhood, checking for video. If anyone saw anything that can help us, please call our homicide unit," Boston Police said.

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call detectives assigned to the Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470. Those who wish to remain anonyomous can do so by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1 (800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word 'TIP' to CRIME (27463).
