Fast Food Workers Strike
About 150 workers and supporters chanted slogans, held up signs while protesting in front of fast-food restaurants in Boston on Thursday to demand $15 an hour.
That's nearly double the state minimum wage of $8 and is more than double the federal minimum of $7.25.
One protester, 45-year-old Kyle King, has worked as a cashier at Burger King in Boston for the past nine years.
He says the $8.15 he earns is barely enough to pay for his bus fare to and from work, together with food for maybe a couple of days.
He says he's been coping by cutting back over the past three years and paying only part of his bills.
