Fantasy Football Advice For Week 1 From Dave Richard On Toucher & Rich
It's finally football season! To help ring in the new NFL year, CBS fantasy football expert Dave Richard joined Toucher & Rich on Thursday morning.
"Dude, it's Christmas," Richard said. "It feels like Christmas. The football season starts today, the fantasy season starts today, I am all fired up."
The talk started with Rich asking Dave whether it was foolish or not to draft Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham with back-to-back picks at the end of the first round and beginning of the second round.
"You took two guys that are the most dominant players on an offense that's going to put up a ton of points and get a ton of yards, and that's exactly what Jimmy Graham does, that's what Drew Brees does," Dave said. However, Dave cautioned that such a strategy can lead to weak running backs and receivers.
Dave took some calls, and he offered up a big sleeper who should be available on most waiver wires: Denard Robinson.
"It looks like he's going to be the backup running back in Jacksonvile, and if Toby Gerhart struggles, they're going to go to Denard Robinson," Richard said. "They're going to start using him soon anyway because he gives them speed out of the backfield."
Richard also said that Dallas' weak defense is going to be "magical" for fantasy football owners who have players matched up against the Cowboys.
Also, should fantasy football players be afraid to start Aaron Rodgers on Thursday night in Seattle?
