Fantastic Fall Weather On A Roll
Well we all started the morning off with a few showers and plenty of clouds. However, with the cold front offshore we can expect a rapid increase in sunshine this morning with mostly sunny skies developing. Although we are behind the cold front, the coolest of the fall air is still well off to our northwest, and as a result temperatures will climb into the lower 70's most locations, with light northwesterly winds. It doesn't get much better than this (unless the Patriots win of course).
Monday we start off our workweek with another beautiful day. Temperatures to start will be quite chilly with low-mid 40's common in the suburbs and closer to 50 nearest the coast. Although a few clouds may move through late in the morning associated with an approaching short wave trough, skies should be partly to mostly sunny as dry air continues to advect into the region as a surface high pressure region dominates the weather. High Temperatures Monday will be noticeably cooler with most locations struggling to reach the middle 60's. Monday night temperatures will bottom out thanks to clear skies and calm winds. Far northwestern suburbs may drop into the upper 30's with lower 40' across the rest of the region with the exception of the immeidate coastline. It will definitely be a good idea to bring the sweater to school/work Tuesday morning as it will be quite frigid to start. Despite this chilly start, temperatures Tuesday will rebound substantially by afternoon thanks to southerly winds and abundant afternoon sunshine. Expect high temperatures to approach the lower 70's. It truly will be fall weather at it's finest.
Unfortunately, nice weather only lasts so long here in New England, and Wednesday we will see slightly unsettled conditions as a cold front approaches the region. Although cloud cover will be abundant throughout the afternoon, showers should be rather isolated and light in nature with most places racking up an "impressive" tenth of an inch or less of rainfall by days end. As a result of this cloud cover high temperatures will be limited to the lower-middle 70's.
Thursday strong high pressure moves in behind the front, setting us up for yet ANOTHER stretch of georgeous weather consisting of sunny skies and high temperatures in the middle 60's regionwide. Friday looks like a repeat of Thursday with more great weather, while Saturday may become slightly unsettled by afternoon as some clouds and showers approach the region towards days end. It should be a great stretch of weather with the minor exception of Wednesday. Make sure to get outside as much as possible this weekend and take advantage of this great weather pattern as the arrival of cold, artic air is unfortunately inevitable as we approach Winter.
