For Anna Geraty of Charlestown, Thursday's trip to Indianapolis was an unexpected surprise.
"I'm too old to jump up and down, but I am so elated, I can't even tell you. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity," said Geraty.
WBZ-TV's Sera Congi reports.
Geraty bought a raffle ticket for $100 at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where she volunteers. That ticket was a winner.
Now, Geraty and her best friend Jamie are heading to the Super Bowl, all expenses paid. Geraty and her friend Jamie will be staying at the Patriots' team hotel and also will be guests at several parties.
"I feel so lucky, and I'm so excited, it's going to be amazing," said Jaime Schwartz.
Also, the trip isn't just a lucky break for Geraty and her friend. The raffle raised over $40,000 for the rehabilitation hospital.
"At Spaulding, we have a tag line of 'find your strength' and events like this make all the difference in giving patients a sense of hope," said Maureen Banks of Spaulding.
