Family Searches For Answers After Woman Is Found Dead In Braintree Hotel

LAWRENCE (CBS) The family of a 19-year old woman found dead at a Braintree hotel is in limbo as they wait for answers as to why she was there and how she died.

"She didn't deserve to die she always saw the good in everybody," said Sigryd Rached, sister.

Reina Rodriguez was found dead in a hotel room at the Hyatt Place in Braintree on Thursday.

"I wish I knew," said Marcos Rodriguez, father.

Investigators call her death suspicious. They have released no other information, including to her family.

Marcos Rodriguez spoke to his daughter the day before her body was discovered.

"Yes, I would love to dad. I would love camping with you. And, that's the last time I saw her, spoke with her," said Marcos Rodriguez.

In their time of grief, the family goes over the past.

"She didn't have parents. I tried to be there for her, but my life is limited. I don't drive," said Marcos Rodriguez. "It was hard for me to keep her with me."

They said Rodriguez was a free-spirit. She hailed from Lawrence and was living at the homes of various friends, often visiting Boston and New York. Her family has no idea why she was at the Braintree hotel.

"She's not married, she doesn't even have a boyfriend," said Marcos Rodriguez.

What they do know is they lost a young woman who they loved and who loved life.

"This is a devastating loss for our family," said Sigryd Rached.
