Family Of Brockton Hit And Run Victim Offers Reward
BROCKTON (CBS) - The mother of a 6-year-old Brockton boy is hoping someone will come forward with information about the driver who left her boy injured in the road.
"We would want someone who has a conscience to come forward to say, 'It was a mistake, I hit him, I was afraid, I ran away from the scene, but I'm here now. Let's work the situation out," says Desiree Murray-Mason.
Brian Murray-Mason is home from the hospital in a wheelchair, after he suffered a concussion, broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a broken leg.
It happened three weeks ago, when the boy was walking home from kindergarten with his older sisters. He ran on to Prospect Street to catch up with their other siblings. A dark colored sedan hit him and then took off.
"The first week or so were hard for him. For the family it was even harder because we have sleepless nights, and we just want to make sure that one eye is open just to make sure he's OK," says his mother.
She says he doesn't even remember the incident, which is just as well. Brockton Police say it's still an active investigation. The family is offering a $500.00 reward for information.
