Families Rescued After Fire, Explosions At Brockton Warehouse
BROCKTON (CBS) – Several families were rescued in Brockton after a warehouse near their home burst into flames late Monday night.

The 5-alarm fire started in a storage unit on Montello Street just before 10 p.m.
"'Boom,' then all of a sudden out of all that black smoke, you see a big flame of fire, then it went 'boom' again to where people were scared to move their cars," neighbor Lawanda Carter told WBZ-TV.
Carter and others living nearby rushed to a triple-decker on Exchange Street next to the warehouse.
"When we smelled the smoke, it smelled like rubber and then the next thing you know we saw the flames, we ran, banged on people's doors and got everybody out. They came out in their boxer shorts and everything with the children," Carter said.
Everyone inside – two children and nine adults – escaped safely. One firefighter was hurt, but not seriously.
The siding on the home melted in the intense heat.
The warehouse, owned by general contractor Bay State Millwork, was filled with tires.
There's no word yet on a cause.
