Falmouth Plane Crash Victims Identified
FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — Police have identified a 23-year-old from Connecticut as the man killed this weekend when a small plane crashed on Cape Cod.
Police said Monday that Aaron Mentkowski of Wallingford, Conn., died after the plane crashed for unknown reasons with two other Connecticut residents on board.
Police said 54-year-old Dianne Palmeri and 55-year-old Albert Rossini, both of Guilford, Conn., were being treated at Boston hospitals Monday for life-threatening burn injuries. Fire officials say the couple was learning to fly.
Officials said the plane took off Saturday from Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut and crashed while attempting to land at Falmouth Air Park.
National Transportation Safety Board investigators arrived at the scene Sunday. A spokesman said Monday that the board won't issue a probable cause of the crash for at least a year.
