Fall River Students Chat With Astronaut In Space
FALL RIVER (CBS) - It's not everyday you can talk to an astronaut - especially one still in space.
Some students at the Talbot Innovation Middle School got that rare chance Thursday, when they interviewed astronaut Chris Cassidy, who is currently on board the International Space Station.
From zero gravity to liquids and gasses in space, Cassidy answered several questions and explained life on board the space station.
He also said his journey has given him a greater appreciation of Earth.
"(Seeing) really beautiful blues of the ocean and the white clouds and white mountaintops and really plush, green vegetation and really stark brown of the desert and you mix all that together and it makes me think what a wonderful spaceship we all have and share," Cassidy said.

He also told the kids that while he won't likely go to Mars one of them may be the first to go someday.
The chat was broadcast on NASA TV and was one of only six chances kids across the country had to reach out into space.
