Boston Man Arrested In Fatal Everett Shooting
EVERETT (CBS) -- A Boston man is under arrest in the fatal shooting of a man in broad daylight Sunday afternoon.
Keith Herring, 27, was arrested Monday morning and charged with murder, armed robbery, carjacking, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Middlesex District Attorney's Office said Herring shot and killed Gary Duff-Turcotte, 21, of Stoneham, just after 2 p.m. near Ferry and Chelsea Streets.
A witnesses at the scene Sunday told WBZ-TV the incident looked like an attempted carjacking.
"It was two gunshots, I believe, to the shoulder," one witness said. "It was a black male and a black female that stole their vehicle."
Turcotte was taken to Whidden Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"The guy that got shot, he ran up to the street and that's when he had fallen right there, and he had said to the girlfriend, 'I can't breathe, I can't breathe,'" a witness said.
Herring is expected to be arraigned later Monday morning in Malden District Court.
