"These are the hardest cases. Three of these particular turtles had a lot of shell trauma and had to either have their shells cast or surgically put back together," said Lacasse. "And they're ready to go."
Workers at the New England Aquarium's Animal Care Center in Quincy spent eight months nursing the animals back to health.
They've recovered from hypothermia and other injuries and they're ready to go free.
Scientists have glued satellite tags to the turtles' shells so they'll be able to track the reptiles.
