Ellsbury Becomes 1st Red Sox With 30/30
BOSTON (CBS) – Jacoby Ellsbury continues to shine on a Red Sox team that needs any kind of spark.
Ellsbury hit two solo home runs in Game One of Boston's double header with the Yankees in the Bronx, giving him 30 round-trippers for the season. With 38 stolen bases, Ellsbury becomes the first Red Sox in team history to register 30 home runs and 30 steals in the same season.
With his second home run, Ellsbury is now at 100 RBI for the season. He has six homers and 16 RBI for the month of September.
Ellsbury accounted for three of Boston's six hits in the 6-2 loss.
