Warren Takes Aim At GOP Rival Brown, Romney At Forum
BOSTON (AP) — Democratic Senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren took aim at her Republican opponent U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and former Gov. Mitt Romney during a forum at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston.
The Harvard Law School professor also said she supports raising taxes on oil companies and would allow Bush-era tax cuts to expire for the wealthiest individuals.
Warren faulted Romney for pledging to roll back a financial overhaul signed by President Barack Obama in 2010.
She also criticized Brown for joining other Republicans to block a Democratic-backed bill to require organizations that pour millions into campaign ads to disclose top donors. Warren said Brown is helping those groups "remain in the shadows."
Brown said he blocked the bill in part because it would favor "powerful special interest" like unions over business groups.
