Edelman Returns To Practice For Patriots
BOSTON (CBS) - After suffering a concussion in the Patriots 49-19 Thanksgiving night win over the Jets in New York, receiver Julien Edelman returned to the practice field on Wednesday.
Edelman was one of 12 players with limited participation in the week's first practice, as the Patriots hit the field preparing for Sunday's game against the Dolphins in Miami.
Edelman's return is a good sign for his availability on Sunday, as it indicates he passed the first round of his concussion tests. It is unclear if he has been given the green light for any contact.

The receiver/special teamer has enjoyed success on the field as of late, catching two touchdown passes, recovering a fumble for a touchdown, and returning a punt for a score all in the last two games.
For the season, Edelman has 20 receptions for 222 yards and three touchdowns.
Six players did not participate in Wednesday's practice: guard Dan Connolly (back), defensive end Chandler Jones (ankle), guard Logan Mankins (calf/ankle), offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back/knee), tight end Rob Gronkowski (forearm/hip), and offensive tackle Markus Zusevics.

Tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle), linebackers Dont'a Hightower (hamstring) and Brandon Spikes (knee), and receivers Brandon Lloyd (knee) and Wes Welker (ankle) were among those limited for New England on Wednesday.
The Patriots practiced outside on Wednesday, in the near-freezing cold, despite heading down to Miami this weekend where temperatures are expected to be around the 80's. Head coach Bill Belichick was asked if it might be better for the Patriots to practice indoors, with the heat blasting, but he felt the grass outside (instead of the turf inside) is better for his team's preparations.
"I don't know if we could get it 80 in there," he said of the Dana Farber Field House. "We'll be outside on the grass. That's the best setup for us right now."
